We still let the kids decorate the roof while Jenny held it together. But eventually the inevitable happened...

Despite feeling like huge failures, we had a great time. (We later discovered that when we doubled the icing recipe we totally forgot to double the powdered sugar. Oops.) And the kids didn't seem to mind at all. Sure, it would have been nice for Jenny to have had a gingerbread house on display for a week or so but personally, I've been very content having a never-ending supply of gingerbread to eat!
